FORENSIC SERVICES

ALCOHOL TESTING PROGRAM

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the Alcohol Testing Program through instrument shipment and upload troubleshooting, equipment calibration, and certification record management. Prepares reports and serves as a liaison to internal and external stakeholders.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

  • Providing assistance to the Alcohol Testing Program’s inspection of evidentiary instruments, to include, troubleshooting instrumentation uploads for agencies, instrument intake-initiate instrument processing sheet and perform visual checks;
  • Ensuring timely calibration of laboratory equipment;
  • Maintaining records for blood alcohol analysts;
  • Processing certification records for breath test courses conducted throughout Florida using the Automated Training Management System (ATMS);
  • Preparing progress reports, project reports and related statistical data relating to Alcohol Testing Program certifications and calibrations;
  • Processing incoming and outgoing correspondence, including requests for instrument information, according to agency policies and supervisory instruction;
  • Performing independent research, analysis and respond as the Public Records Custodian for the Alcohol Testing Program, and
  •  Acting as liaison/agency representative to criminal justice agencies, non-criminal justice agencies, members of the public, and others, regarding the Alcohol Testing Program in a professional and timely manner, according to instructions and agency policies, by written and verbal correspondence, including the drafting of letters, forms and other correspondence and tracking documents.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis;
  • Knowledge of basic management principles and practices;
  • Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document workflow and other activities relating to the improvement of management practices;
  • Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials;
  • Ability to lift and move work equipment weighing up to fifteen pounds;
  • Ability to conduct fact finding research; and
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.

BASE SALARY:

  • $ 47,350.00
