As a Regional Manager for Distributed Generation Field Services, you will play a crucial role in leading and supporting team leads and technicians for our Distributed Generation sites. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the safe, efficient, and reliable delivery of field services to AES Clean Energy facilities, with a focus on preventative and corrective maintenance and limited support for ongoing construction activities. You will also assist in planning to meet regional maintenance obligations and work closely with team leads, technicians, and other parts of the Clean Energy O&M organization to identify and address site issues and enhance the operating portfolio’s performance. Additionally, you will coordinate and manage contractors engaged to support maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide performance and developmental leadership and feedback to the distributed generation field services team.
- Actively communicate with other regional field services teams and pursue opportunities for collaboration.
- Participate in strategy development exercises to improve organizational structure, talent retention, general skill level, and resilience.
- Ensure timely, complete, and high-quality reporting of field service activities.
- Support or lead warranty claims processes with EPC providers and equipment vendors.
- Develop strategic plans, including budget and headcount, for addressing asset needs.
- Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for outage and work planning, ticket processing, warehouse materials management and re-ordering, and tracking team skills and equipment inspections.
- Support Field Services staff in communicating with AES Clean Energy staff and local offtakers and authorities regarding operations and maintenance events through phone calls, emails, and other business software such as our CMMS.
- Ensure that Team Leads establish and maintain work schedules, including on-call schedules, and communicate those schedules as needed to internal and external parties.
- Provide safe practice and technical expertise to address specific needs in the field.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of O&M activities to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable delivery of field services.
- Acquire and retain vendors and third-party contractors as needed to support our plants.
- Participate in the construction and commissioning of facilities, working closely with the AES Clean Energy Construction team and O&M Transition team to ensure a high-quality build, successful commissioning, timely project punch list closeout, and smooth transition of responsibility to the Operations team.
- Prepare and track the annual O&M and CAPEX budgets.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Appropriate Electrical trade qualification with at least 10 years of experience working on utility-scale electrical systems.
- Experience working with C&I or utility-scale PV systems and Battery Energy Storage systems is strongly preferred.
- A college degree in a related field is a plus.
- A high degree of commitment to a quality safety culture and an incident-free work environment.
