Mission Overview & Responsibilities:
NYT Cooking is looking for a passionate, data-driven Product Manager to grow its app audience. The NYT Cooking app is the premiere destination for NYT Cooking subscribers to discover and cook our world-class recipes. As Product Manager, you will lead our efforts in bringing more users to the NYT Cooking app and expanding the app's audience - in partnership with design, engineering, marketing, research, data, and editorial. Your work will advance our broader user engagement strategy. As you grow into your role, your scope will likely increase to include other areas where we can broaden our audience in service of engagement (e.g. newsletters).

Responsibilities:

Develop and test new ways to introduce users to the NYT Cooking app.

Stay curious and informed about the industry landscape, conducting ongoing competitive analysis of other sites, apps, and products to identify ways to improve search and personalization.

Partner with Product, Engineering, Design, Editorial, Marketing, Data, and Research to define and work through your roadmap.

Advocate for the user always, continue to identify, understand our user base and address their needs.

Demonstrate support and understanding of our value of journalistic independence and a strong commitment to our mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world.

You will report to the product director leading engagement for Cooking.
Basic Qualifications:

1+ years of product manager or relevant experience

Experience setting goals that balance user needs and business growth

Experience designing and maintaining clear roadmaps

Experience using data, insights, and metrics to inform decision-making, test hypotheses, and iterate quickly

Experience communicating product updates, milestones, and progress to internal and external partners

Experience partnering with engineering, design, data, and researchers
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with product-driven app growth and engagement
