The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Multimedia Special Projects Coordinator, UNLV Online Education - Instructional Design (FLEXIBLE WORK SCHEDULE) [R0142840]

ROLE of the POSITION

The Office of Online Education welcomes applications for the Multimedia Special Projects Coordinator (“Coordinator”).  This position supports multimedia team members as they engage faculty in non-credit bearing projects needing multimedia support. The Coordinator uses a growth mindset to help the special projects multimedia team function as members of a supportive Online Education (OE) team. The Coordinator has strong pedagogical knowledge, immersive learning experience and collaborative supervisory skills that promote best practices in multimedia design and development.  The Coordinator supports multimedia specialists, instructional designers, faculty and staff through the project design and development stages; evaluates OE projects for consistency with design standards and best practices; identifies and organizes resources for skill and knowledge development for OE special projects staff; and brings research-based perspectives to the art and science of digital and immersive learning. The Coordinator collaborates closely with the Instructional Design Special Projects Coordinator, the entire OE team and the UNLV Libraries immersive learning team. The Coordinator also supports OE by working on issues, programs or projects at the request of the Executive Director.
 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and 5+ years experience and 1-3 years staff supervisory experience.  Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree in Instructional Design, Educational Psychology, Organizational Development or related.
  • 3-5 years experience
  • 3-5 years supervisory experience
  • 1-3 years management experience

Direct experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Teaching or training in a higher education setting
  • Using appropriate educational technology to enhance teaching and learning in online projects
  • Building projects in a learning management system in a higher education setting; or
  • Supporting and developing a cooperative team of professionals

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Instructional design
  • Immersive learning design
  • Human-computer interaction theories
  • User experience testing
  • Learning theories
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and guidelines for multimedia and immersive content, including ensuring accessibility for users with disabilities
  • Knowledge of user experience (UX) design principles and methodologies for immersive environments
  • Knowledge of copyright and intellectual property issues related to multimedia and immersive content creation and distribution
  • Building projects in a learning management system
  • Building immersive learning experiences
  • Proficiency in multimedia production software and tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, and Premiere Pro
  • Experience designing and developing immersive learning experiences using VR, AR, or other immersive technologies
  • Experience with authoring tools, software platforms, and development frameworks used in immersive learning (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine, Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Experience conducting needs assessments, evaluations, and user testing for immersive learning experiences
  • Using appropriate educational technology to enhance the impact of digital online projects
