A Post-Doctoral Fellow position is available in Dr. Rong R. Wang’s lab in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.WPI is passionate about creating an inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity. JOB DESCRIPTION
Ideal candidate is expected to have research experiences in bio-detection assay development, optical and electrochemical sensors, micro-nano fabrication, natural and synthetic polymers as scaffolds for tissue engineering and sensor materials.
Experience in animal studies, mammalian cell culture, and microscopic imaging is a plus. The Post-Doctoral Fellow is expected to work on the development of bioengineering scaffolds for tissue regeneration, and the development of advanced spectroscopic and electrochemical sensing modalities for rapid, labelfree, on-chip detection of various biomarkers. She/he will also help manage and maintain the lab equipment, supervise student researchers for data collection and analysis, write research articles and grant proposals.
This position is expected to start on October 1, 2024 with an annual salary of $60k. The support will be provided via Dr. Wang’s startup fund. The initial hire will be one year, and is renewable based on the fellow’s performance and fund availability.
