OnsiteThis is a higher entry-mid-level position that assembles aircraft products under minimal supervision, and performs routine and repetitive assembly operations and procedures on our ACES Ejection Seats.
What You Will Do
• You will assemble products by reading blueprints and work instructions, including the use of measuring devices (scales, calipers etc.) with minimal supervision
• You will perform sheet metal riveting functions using hand tools such as a rivet gun, rivet gun, shaver, rivet squeeze, hand clamps, bucking bars, drill press, pneumatic drill and specialized features to build sub-assemblies
• You may track and receive the required parts for product area. May check stock bins for adequate supplies of sub-assemblies, parts, and fasteners for the particular run
• You will contact material handler or lead if shortages exist or incorrect parts are in bins
• You may pack finished product into designated carton
• You will perform necessary tasks to ensure on-time delivery of the product
• You will cross train and work in all areas of assembly operation
• You will adhere to all UTAS rules and codes of conduct
• You will ensure quality product utilizing UTAS quality procedures
• You will look for ways to eliminate safety hazards and improve the overall safety of the workplace
• You will provide continuous improvement ideas in order to support lean and ACE initiatives
• You may perform other job duties as required and available for overtime as necessary
• You will lift and carry up to 25 pounds
Qualifications You Must Have
• Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements
Qualifications We Prefer
•2 years relevant assembly experience
• Experience installing aircraft fasteners, solid rivets, double action bolts, NAS, MS & AN hardware desired
• Basic mechanical knowledge; able to operate hand tools, hand cutters, measuring equipment and light equipment
