Who we are looking for...
This position is responsible for leading the development, deployment, and support of advanced Geospatial Technologies (GST) solutions for internal and external clients at England-Thims & Miller, Inc. (ETM). The Senior Geospatial Analyst will also provide technical leadership and mentor junior staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality geospatial products and services. This role requires strategic thinking, advanced problem-solving skills, and the ability to drive innovation in GIS solutions. The following skills will be required for this position:
Project Management and Support:
- Provide technical expertise to support GST’s consultants and project managers in delivering high-quality products and services.
- Assist and advise with the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of GST’s solutions.
- Offer technical leadership and guidance to ensure system integrity, performance, and reliability.
- Assist on project deliverables and/or lead projects, as assigned.
Data Management:
- Conduct and oversee procurement of geospatial data, ensuring data is accurate, up-to-date, and meets organizational needs.
- Implement data quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) procedures to maintain integrity in GST solutions and processes.
- Manage and optimize complex data schemas, ensuring efficient data organization and retrieval.
- Conduct schema updates and modifications to accommodate business requirements, ensuring schemas are optimized for performance and scalability.
- Utilize branch versioning to effectively manage multiple edits and editor versions. Oversee and resolve conflicts that occur during the Rec&Post processes.
Service Management:
- Develop, publish, and maintain GIS services to support various applications and workflows for both internal and external clients, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to GIS service publishing and performance.
- Resolve any database non-conformities and manage service publishing.
Administration:
- Assist with ArcGIS Enterprise administration duties including system configuration, license renewal and management, and performance monitoring.
- Manage system administration tasks including regular system checks, updates, and backups.
- Scripting and Automation:
- Develop custom scripts, leveraging tools like Python and Arcade, to enhance and automate GST solutions.
Training and Mentorship:
- Mentor and train junior staff, ensuring they are well-equipped with necessary geospatial skills and knowledge.
Application and Platform Management:
- Create, manage, and troubleshoot Esri web applications as well as ETM’s proprietary land development software.
- Configure and optimize ETM’s proprietary land development software to meet specific project requirements and enhance user experience.
- Familiarize and navigate mobile data collection apps, ensuring smooth data flow and integration.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in the geospatial domain.
- Participate in continuous learning and share knowledge and insights with the broader team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in geography, geographic information systems (GIS), engineering, computer science or related field and a minimum of three (7) years’ experience in GIS applications
- GIS Professional (GISP) Certificate is preferred.
- Esri Certification preferred.
- Minimal travel is required for this role. Attend on client sites and conferences may be required as assigned (typically <15 days a year).

- Advanced knowledge of spatial analytical and cartographic techniques
- Experience working independently on advanced projects
- Expertise in ETL to load, reference,project and prepare data from outside providers
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively. Ability to work independently with minimal guidance, demonstrating initiative and self-motivation
- Ability to solve complex problems and take a new perspective on existing solutions to improve performance
- Ability to interpret internal and external needs for geospatial solutions
- Experience in mentoring and providing technical guidance to junior staff
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in fast-pace environment
- Familiarity with integration GIS with other ent
