About the Role

The Human Resource Generalist position supports all HR functions including but not limited to employee relations, benefits and recruitment activities.  Assist in maintaining and enhancing MPT Sterling Heights Human Resource Department. All aspects involved in Human Resource Management activities.

Your Responsibilities

Assist in the administration of policies and procedures in the area of human resources including: Benefits, Safety and Health, Employee Work Rules and Regulations, Employee Orientation, and Training.     
Maintain confidentiality in all areas of human resources.
Support all employees including availability to hourly employees by being on the plant floor on a regular basis.
Assists in coordination of Company functions, employee relations’ activities and training registration.
Files and organizes forms and documents, reference materials and assists in maintenance of employment records in accordance with record-keeping guidelines.
Responsible for recruiting qualified candidates for open positions and tasks related to recruiting.
Review hourly performance appraisals.
Create employee communications including presentations for Employee Meetings.
Issue employee disciplines when necessary.
Oversee Training for division; scheduling of, maintaining in Training Database on PC Compliance and notifications to employees.
Maintain and update PeopleSoft.
Provide back up support for processing payroll and benefit related tasks.
Provide guidance to MPTSH employees when appropriate and assist and advise Supervisors\Managers on employee issues. 
Administration of Training grants.
Responsible for promoting and seeking excellence in all aspects of business. Participates in continuous improvement activities, submits Cost saving improvement suggestions, CIP’s.
Manage multiple projects and deliverables while treating team members with dignity and respect and in accordance with the Magna Employee’s Charter and Core Values.
Ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to including IATF16949, ISO14001 (EMS), and Employee Handbook. 
Follows MIOSHA and MPTSH safety regulations and policies, including wearing required P.P.E. (Personal Protective Equipment).

Who we are looking for

We are in search of a Human Resource Generalist who possesses comprehensive knowledge across all aspects of HR. It is important for this individual to be a team player and capable of collaborating with others effectively. Previous experience in the automotive manufacturing industry is preferred.

Your preferred qualifications

HR related certification/Degree preferred, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the human resource field. Minimum 1 year Human Resource experience in manufacturing environment. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) including ability to understand, speak and write English. Working knowledge of applicable Labor Laws. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Workday. Demonstrates creativity, initiative, and problem-solving skills. Team oriented work approach.  Professional conduct including ability to maintain confidentiality. Excellent attendance and performance record. Ability to work with others in a team environment. Self-starter with a positive attitude. Ability to work in a fast paced
