Job Summary
This position is for a Staff Digital Engineer in the Digital Engineering team within a mixed signal RF, analog and digital product Engineering Department. This engineer’s primary responsibility is to support pSemi Product Development teams by designing, verifying, assisting with characterization, and testing digital functions at the block, subsystem, and IC level. This includes all aspects of development including specification review, Verilog/SystemVerilog RTL arch/micro-arch design, simulation, verification, and debug. Knowledge of design for test, fault coverage, and generation of test vectors for production, characterization, and life cycle is also required. This position requires scripting and software skills to develop or enhance productivity tools, familiarity with IC design techniques, and understanding of CMOS transistor level design is also required.
The individual must have demonstrated experience in system architecture and circuit analysis, design, test, product development, and mass production product releases. As part of a cross-functional product development team the candidate will support other essential disciplines including marketing and applications, project management, characterization, test engineering, and production.
Good communications skills for interfacing with product development, test, process, and reliability engineers is also required. Ability to take a vague concept and turn it into a design specification is also desired.
Roles & Responsibilities
This position has responsibility for:
- Provide technical leadership, insight, mentoring, and support to the digital design team
- Provide architectural guidance to IC definition and specification
- Design using Verilog/SystemVerilog RTL
- Understanding of Design Verification
- Front end support (Synthesis, Timing closure, DFT)
- Digital Characterization test programs and data analysis
- Support ATE test vector generation, Silicon Validation.
- Assisting in failure analysis

Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills)
- Typically requires 6 to 8 years of experience developing RTL/Digital circuits for ASICs
- Knowledge of all aspects of SoC design with experience in architecting & designing digital systems from concept, through tape out, post-silicon validation, and production ramp
- Deep understanding of digital design flow from architecture to in depth knowledge in RTL design, verification, synthesis, timing closure and scan insertion
- Expertise designing digital circuits, state-machines, serial interfaces, and in integrating IP such as SRAM, OTP, Verilog RT
