About the Unit
Our team is comprised of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Our inpatient pharmacy team collaborates closely with healthcare providers to ensure optimal medication management for hospitalized patients. We oversee the medication storage, distribution, and management in a variety of settings. We review medication orders for accuracy and potential interactions, accurately prepare and dispense medications, provide evidence-based drug information, monitor drug levels to optimize therapy, and educate patients and families about their medications. By prioritizing medication safety and minimizing adverse events, we strive to improve patient outcomes and contribute to their overall well-being.
About Corewell Health Farmington Hills Hospital
Corewell Health Farmington Hills opened on Jan. 19, 1965 as a 200-bed facility known then as Botsford General Hospital. Today, Corewell Health Farmington Hills Hospital is a 305-bed teaching facility with Level II trauma status.
Scope of Work
Provides professional customer service as a liaison between the pharmacy department and patients/caregivers. Interacts with prescriber as needed.
Processes physician/nurse/pharmacist obtained patient histories and enters into the computer system and assists in maintaining patient profiles. Reviews profile for allergies, duplication of drugs, and last doses and brings these to the attention of the pharmacist. Checks and verifies accuracy of patient profiles.
- Required High School Diploma or equivalent
- Preferred Associate's Degree health care or related field
- 1 year of relevant experience Pharmacy Required
- 2 years of relevant experience Retail Pharmacy Preferred
- LIC-Pharmacist Intern - STATE_MI State of Michigan required Or
- LIC-Pharmacy Technician - STATE_MI State of Michigan required And
- CRT-Pharmacy Technician, Certified (CPHT) - PTCB Pharmacy Technician Certification Board 90 Days required Or
- CRT-Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) - NHA National Healthcareer Association 90 Days required
