Who We Are
Mission Technologies, a Division of HII is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support Modeling, Simulation and Training at the Joint Integrated Test and Training Center – Nellis (JITTC-N), Nellis AFB, NV. The individual’s primary responsibility will center on software engineering, development and integration of JSE enclave components and applications at the JITTC-N.
What You Will Do
Developing and altering hardware and software components for an advanced synthetic test and training environments within JSE at the JITTC-N. Support software development, software integration, customer training and demonstrations. This will include, but are not limited to:
- Demonstrates a knowledge of standard programming algorithms, design patterns, and object-oriented software design.
- Provide SME support to the customer team and their vendors during the development, deployment, implementation, test, fielding, and acceptance of software to support JSE systems.
- Implement industry standard, theoretical, and/or rigorous analysis methodologies to verify and validate software designs and analysis methods.
- Remain current on developing JSE software technologies and available packages/patches.
- Evaluate software performance and make recommendations and test reports when required.
- Collaborate with government personnel to prioritize features and deliverables to meet changing customer needs.
- Evaluate and review C++ language code, programming using C++, Python, Java, MATLAB, etc.
- Develops parallel processes, threading, process communication.
- Collaborates with team members to design future enhancements with specific focus on the development, test and integration of data crawlers for non-DIS protocols.
- Familiarity with time-series analysis a plus.
What You Must Have
- 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
- Three (3) years of practical experience in software engineering preferably associated with modeling and simulation within the training and training systems domains.
- Demonstrated experience with C++, Python, Java, MATLAB and other object-oriented software design and development.
- Demonstrated experience with network-based and distributed operations, DIS protocols and ability to monitor and triage network related issues.
- Must have had an Active TS/SCI security clearance within the last 24 months.
- Able to successfully manage competing tasks and priorities.
- Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Must be a US citizen.
Bonus Points For...
- Previous or active Top Secret DoD security clearance.
- Experience in software design, test and implementation within DoD flight simulators.
- Experience contributing to the system design or architecture of new and current systems.
- Experience with Agile software practices.
- Experience supporting Special Access Program (SAP) efforts.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Degrees in Engineering, Math, and Physics may qualify with at least 1 year of C++ and/or Python experience.

Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements Software Engineer family.
