Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Accounting Operations:

  • Manage and complete day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
  • Supervise and complete the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and ensure all audit requirements are met.
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and other key accounting processes.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Support the development of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial planning.
  • Coordinate with department heads to gather data, track performance against budget, and analyze variances.
  • Support management in forecasting cash flows, profitability, and financial needs.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting and finance professionals.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the finance team.
  • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to staff to enhance their technical skills and career growth.

Internal Controls and Compliance:

  • Monitor and enforce compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and implement internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Stay current on relevant financial regulations and ensure the organization adheres to all applicable laws.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the senior leadership team and other departments (e.g., Operations, Sales, HR) to provide financial insights and support business decision-making.
  • Lead ad hoc financial analysis projects and initiatives as required by the business.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the finance and accounting function to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Drive automation and system improvements to streamline financial reporting and accounting processes.

Other Duties

  • Assist with special accounting projects or ad-hoc financial analysis as required.
  • Provide general support to the finance team and other departments as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP, accounting principles, and financial reporting standards.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, advanced formulas).
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., D365, or similar ERP systems).
  • Leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills
  • Sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus
  • Ability to work with peers in a team effort
  •  Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays in alignment with departmental and industry demands

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Prior experience in Pharmacy, PBM preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting or finance role
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting principles.
  • Experience in general ledger accounting, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with complex account reconciliations and audit support.
  •  Experience with financial software (e.g., Dynamics 365, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems) and advanced Excel skills

Ideal Candidate has:

  • Medical Accounting background 
  • Inventory experience
  • Previous remote work experience
