This is a highly collaborative and engaged work environment with great leadership. We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse Unit Supervisor for part-time, nights on the Medical Critical Care Step Down at Inova Fairfax Hospital.
The Medical Critical Care Step Down Unit (MCCSU) is a 24 bed acute care unit specializing in the care of stable but critically ill patients. Our goal is to provide transition level care to patients who while stable, still require a high degree of support. The IMC patient population consists of a wide range of both medical and surgical diagnosis including: Kidney transplant, Diabetic Ketoacidosis, Respiratory Disorders, End of Life Cancer, and Ventilator management with an emphasis on weaning. Assignments are based on patient acuity and staff skill level. The usual nurse/patient ratio is 3:1.

We are looking for a full-time Experienced Registered Nurse for our MCCSU at Inova Fairfax Hospital to perform comprehensive assessment by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting data, formulates an individualized plan of care for patients based on assessment findings, advocates patients’ rights from the patient/family perspective, coordinates health care and alternate services for patient/family.

Schedule: Part time/Nights (24 hr/week) 2- 12 hour shifts

Requirements: Requires a minimum of 1-year Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting
Minimum Education Requirement: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must be within 1 year of completing their BSN.
Minimum Licensure/ Certification Requirement:
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start.
- Specialty certification (as required by unit) within 1 year from date of hire.
- Completion of revised Charge Nurse Workshop within the first 90-days of employment.
