Position Overview:
As a Senior Accountant you will be responsible for supporting the accounting team with many aspects of general ledger-related activities ranging from proper application of US GAAP for accounting transactions, entering GL entries, preparing GL account reconciliations, assisting with the monthly close and financial reporting in a fast-paced, non-traditional environment. This role is perfect for an individual looking to grow their career within a fast-moving global team with excellent exposure to a wide range of global accounting activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the business operations, financial reporting and the general ledger structure for all of Diligent’s legal entities
- Perform assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger closing processes
- Prepare journal entries and monthly account reconciliations
- Development of financial statements and reports for a number of international entities
- Support the external audit process for entities under your responsibility
- Responsible for indirect tax filings for entities under your responsibility
- Provide support or act as accounting lead in enterprise-wide initiatives and assist in other special projects, including tax projects, system upgrades and implementations, merger and acquisition related activities, and new products offered by business units
- Contribute to the efficiency of the Accounting Division by participating in cross training, sharing job responsibilities, and serving as position backup for other team members
- Perform ad-hoc projects as assigned
Required Experience/Skills
- 5+ years
- US GAAP experience required
- Relevant bachelors degree required
- Must have strong attention to detail
- Strong work ethic and willingness to take ownership for wide-ranging responsibilities
- Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility to accommodate different situations and temperaments
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced and global environment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc)
- Superior organization and prioritization skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
