This opportunity resides with Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. About the Role

Are you looking for an opportunity to progress your career and lead other Software Test Engineers?   

 

Mission Technologies, a division of HII is seeking a highly motivated Software Test Engineer Lead to join our dynamic team at our Hanover, MD location.  You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our Minotaur software product.  Your expertise in testing methodologies within a Linux environment, will be instrumental for our customers in national defense.  

 

Ideally, we are seeking a candidate that possesses the listed technical skills and has a passion to lead, mentor, and train junior test engineers.  You do not have to possess prior leadership experience.      

 

The Minotaur Mission Processor ingests data from various sensors on manned and unmanned surveillance aircraft to enhance an operator’s ability to identify tracks from various on-board sensors, from both sea and land, that is utilized in all branches of the military. Responsibilities would include testing prototype solutions to unaddressed, critical military operational shortfalls through research, conceptualization, design, implementation, and evaluation as a member of an established team that has fielded numerous highly regarded capabilities. Subject areas differ widely over time, but current projects focus on improving the exploitation of airborne sensor data through object tracking, multi-sensor correlation, and operational data display.  You will lead junior Software Test Engineers and provide mentorship, training and coaching to further progress their skillsets.

You Will

Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains standards for software systems quality operating methods, processes, and procedures. Conducts evaluation of software systems activities including requirements, design, development, documentation, integration, test, verification and validation. Defines appropriate measures to ensure product quality. Develops overall operating criteria to ensure implementation of the software quality program according to project, process and contract requirements and objectives. Ensures that projects and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contracts. Reviews software systems design, change specifications, and plans against contractual and/or process requirements. Reviews include applicable specifications, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies. Provides or directs verification and validation of
