Job summary:

The OSCQ organization has an opportunity for a talented professional to join our team in a critical role as a Senior Supplier Assurance Engineer, focusing on Root Cause and Corrective Actions for both product design and processes. You will be involved in all aspects of identifying what is driving Delivery and Quality issues and recommending appropriate Corrective Actions. This role spans across a wide range of weapon systems, from tactical missiles to strategic defense products.

You will review and analyze large quantities of data and identify systemic issues impacting supplier performance. You will partner with the Commodity & Program Supplier Assurance teams to gather human intelligence and understand critical areas of action to address systemic issues impacting multiple suppliers. You will also partner with Engineering and Supply Chain to improve Raytheon design requirements to advance manufacturing and quality capabilities of suppliers. You will initiate continuous and measurable design and process improvement of supplier hardware.

What you will do:

  • Identify risk for escapes and recommend applicable countermeasures.
  • Extract data from multiple databases and establish performance baselines. Participate in establishing the G&Os for the year. Familiarity with QMA Dashboards is a plus.
  • Analyze data and isolate the very few factors responsible for both increased performance and underperformance impacting Delivery and Quality.
  • Applying Lean Manufacturing concepts, validate that the suppliers flow the material and information/documentation together both internally and when completing deliveries to Raytheon. This applies for both new orders, new parts (FAI) and legacy parts.
  • Recommend process and design changes as well as Corrective Actions (CAs). Working with a cross-functional team, you will prioritize and assist with the implementation of such improvements and CAs.
  • Coach critical suppliers how to perform process/procedure self-audits on selected components and assemblies for certain characteristics.
  • Communicate progress to stakeholders.
  • Support travel as needed (approx. 10%).

Qualifications you must have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Relevant experience is with root cause analysis and corrective actions for product design and/or processes.
  • Experience with the Six Sigma methodology for problem solving.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience (former Manufacturing Engineering experience is a plus).
  • Quality Management System (QMS) experience (former Quality Engineering experience is a plus).
  • Experience with Engineering technical documentation, including Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GDT).
  • Experience supporting business and functional deliverables.
  • Experience performing supplier assessments.
