Sentara Health is hiring an experienced Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Cath Holding Area at Sentara Careplex Hospital located in Hampton, Virginia. This is a full time, day shift position. ​

Job Description:

• The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.

• The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing.

• The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

Job Requirements:

• Education: Minimum of ASN or RN Diploma required; BSN or MSN preferred

• Licensure: RN licensure required. BLS within 90 days of hire. ACLS within 1 year.

• Experience: Strongly prefer previous critical care (ICU, ED, etc) or cath lab experience. Prior experience circulating and monitoring invasive cardiac procedures, endovascular procedures, and interventional radiology procedures​ is preferred.

Hours:

• Monday – Friday: Three/12-hour shifts per week. There is some flexibility to work 6am-6:30pm and/or 7:30am-8pm. Please note that staff is expected to stay until the last patient leaves, so it is possible for the shifts to run longer than noted.

• No call! No holidays!
