I. Policy Reporting Relationships
The Driver reports to the Ground Transportation Supervisor.
II. Basic Function
Driving for Trinity Air Medical (TAM) means being at the forefront of an operation that saves lives every day. TAM drivers report to the Ground Transportation Supervisor and are responsible for providing outstanding customer service to surgical teams. Drivers also perform timely pick-ups and drop offs of samples and specimens and maintenance of the office and fleet at TAM. TAM is a 24/7 operation that provides a critical service to the organ donation and transplantation community. The role of the driver is critical in ensuring the organization’s ability to carry out its mission in service to Organ Procurement Organizations (OPO’s) and Transplant Centers. The role of On Call Driver at Trinity Air Medical TAM is responsible for the day-to-day logistical operations required by its customers.
Location:
Port Richmond, Philadelphia, PA
Expected to be able to arrive at office within 30 minutes of being dispatched. Must be comfortable arriving and leaving office in the middle of the night for trips.
Schedule:
Part-Time: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday 24 on call
Compensation:
$26/hour
$2 overnight differential from 6pm-6am
$50 on call bonus per 24 hour shift
Requirements:
- Must be EVOC Certified
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience
III. Essential Functions
A. Expectations:
a. Driver will be expected to report to the Ground Transportation Supervisor for day-to-day operations.
b. Provide professional ground transportation for TAM customers.
c. Team transport- the driver will be asked to provide ground transportation for customers to/from hospitals and airports. It is expected that the driver attends to all needs of the team including catering requests, providing en-route snacks/drinks, and delivering door-to-door in a safe and efficient manner.
d. Specimen transport- the driver will be asked to pick up and deliver blood specimens/organs/scans to hospitals and laboratories. It is expected that the driver is on time, handles the specimen with the utmost care, and delivers to the proper delivery station.
e. OPO deliveries- the driver will asked to pick up and deliver items, equipment, paperwork, and other necessities to and from donor headquarters and hospitals. It is expected that the driver is on time, handles cargo with the utmost care, and delivers to the proper delivery station.
f. TAM business- the driver will be asked to perform daily driving functions for TAM- driving guests, servicing vehicles, picking up equipment, special events, etc.
B. Vehicle Operation and TAM responsibilities
a. The driver will demonstrate a good working knowledge of all vehicles.
b. The driver will be expected to obey all traffic laws and operate all vehicles in a safe manner.
c. The driver will be expected to perform daily vehicle and facilities inspections compliant with processes outlined by Ground Transportation Supervisor.
d. The driver will be expected to perform all office duties outlined by the
Ground Transportation Supervisor (cleaning of bay/vehicles, trashes, shift pass-off, etc).
e. Documentation and communication
f. The driver will be expected to maintain communication with logistics coordinators during any job function, alerting them to any delays, vehicle issues, or customer issues.
g. The driver will be expected to keep their status up to date at all times during any job function. This includes commenting/documenting any special instructions or scenarios.
h. The driver will be expected to report any issues regarding fleet to the appropriate supervisor.
C. On Call driving
a. The driver will be expected to respond to logistics coordinators in no more than 10 minutes if contacted for check-in or a job function.
b. The driver will be expected to have an appropriate full uniform/shoes with them in the event they are not responding from home.
c. The driver will be expected to always have a working cell phone/in-service contact number. This includes remaining in areas with full cell coverage and the ability to respond.
d. The driver will be expected to communicate any issues/delays with performing calls at any given time of the day (appointments, late coming off a second job, etc).
D. Other
a. The driver will be expected to show up well rested and able to drive continuously for the duration of the shift without putting themselves or passengers at risk.
