Pratt & Whitney's Mechanical Systems, Externals and Nacelles (MSEN) organization seeks a highly motivated and experienced engineer to serve as Principal Project Engineer for our 30K Externals program. The successful candidate will combine technical excellence with strong communication skills to drive engineering solutions, lead cross-functional teams, and ensure program success in our demanding 30K engine program.
What You Will Do:
- Responsible for parts (ex. Tubes, Brackets, etc.) within the Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT). Key activities include task planning and execution to ensure the IPT achieves overall component goals; Support the IPT through successful technical, program reviews, and business metrics; support the Integrated Product Team budget and schedule according to program requirements.
- Direct interfacing with engineering management, program management, suppliers, and customers.
- Accountable to CIPT for part-level ownership, risk management, and execution of program requirements.
- Supports production needs through eSRI, eQN and Class II or Must Conform Support.
- Participate in Customer, System Integrated Product Team, Integrated Program Management Team, and Senior Management interaction and presentations.
- Travel up to 10%.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of experience in Manufacturing, Military, Logistics, Aerospace, or Aviation industry; or an Advanced degree and 5 years of experience in Manufacturing, Military, Logistics, Aerospace, or Aviation industry.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Aerospace or Turbofan Engine industry experience; Experience in design, manufacture, development, validation, entry into service, and field support.
- Continuous Improvement experience, and/or CORE, ACE, Six-Sigma training.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office, SAP, and Teamcenter.

Department/Segment Overview: The Mechanical Systems, Externals, and Nacelles Engineering organization is responsible for the design, development, and in-service support of power transmission systems, bearing compartment and rotor support design and analysis, oil and thermal management systems, engine externals packaging and architecture, as well as nacelles for commercial and military engine models. Technical disciplines include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, Product Definition, System Modeling, Mechanical Design analysis for bearings, gears, and seals, and fluid-thermal modeling of associated components and systems.
