Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Detention Site Director to join our team! In this role you will get to employ a range of temporary holding and detention practices compliant with American Correctional Association (ACA), ICE, and CBP standards and institutional best practices. This leader must possess, and instill in the workforce, a deep sense of professional and ethical responsibility for the humane treatment of those in their care. The Director will help our DHS, ICE, and CBP professionals with mission critical temporary detention facilities nationwide. We are seeking an experienced leader with in-depth knowledge of US corrections and detention operations who can develop compliant, innovative temporary detention strategies to support rapidly evolving Department of Homeland Security, Immigrations & Customs Enforcement (ICE), and Customs & Border Patrol (CBP) holding/detention/ deportation mission requirements
What You'll Be Doing:
Plans and provides leadership for the administration, logistics and health services support, and security programs of the facility
Makes long-range plans and schedules. Sets goals and establishes objectives to achieve such plans.
Approves, initiates, interprets and enforces policies and directives for efficient administration. Supplements policies with written guidelines and procedures.
Ensure compliance with ACA, ICE, and CBP holding and detention standards, as well as all relevant laws, rules, and regulations
Directs the activities of all facility functions, assigns duties and delegates authority to accomplish them. Ensures the staff is trained and capable of responding to 1st response and emergency situations.

Oversee a mission support staff providing a variety of logistics and life-support activities. The Director will use principles of program management and continuous improvement to enhance facility operations and essential detainee care programs.
Responds on a 24-hour, 7-day basis to significant unusual occurrences.
Analyzes proposals, financial statements, records, statistical reports, budget estimates and justifications for proposed site expenditures.
Manage and evaluate essential logistics service and facility maintenance activities through mission support staff and service contracts.
Develop and implement facility policies, processes, and procedures in alignment with contractual guidance and Parsons program principles.
Liaise with external agencies, partners, and stakeholders to maintain effective 1st responder and emergency management interoperability, communication and collaboration.
Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance and audit program to monitor and control operations, health, safety, and maintenance programs to ensure facility operations meet compliance standards and identify areas for improvement.
Monitors statutory requirements and legal decisions that affect administrative decisions or operations of the facility.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in the behavioral sciences or related field supplemented by courses in business administration and a minimum of ten (10) years of work experience in a correctional or detention facility at the minimum level of associate Facility Administrator or Warden of a correctional facility or an equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
Exceptions may be made concerning supervisory experience if the candidate clearly demonstrates the ability to supervise the proper administration of a correction or detention facility of a substantial number of inmates.
Must possess a working knowledge of program objectives, policies, correctional laws, applicable court orders, procedures and requirements for managing a secure correction or detention facility.
Must have strong leadership ability, sound judgment, and effective administrative ability. Clearly demonstrates the ability to guide, direct and coordinate the efforts of others.
Must be mature, flexible, intellectually alert, able to command the respect and confidence of inmates and staff
