Job Description
The Senior Paint Process Engineer/Tech Support will work autonomously with occasional guidance from supervision. Skilled in equipment/tooling alternatives, sequence and flow of operations for the effective utilization of personnel, material, machines and facilities necessary for the production of parts. Work is performed in a centralized manufacturing engineering activity or assembly/plant activity where creativity and initiative are exercised as well as independent judgment. Will be responsible for a small crew of GM UAW hourly employees.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
SORs and project management for tools, stations or specific technologies
Typically, part of a larger effort or project
Manufacturing process definition
Sequence of operations
Support human factors consideration.
Support efficient material flow.
Design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement of equipment and tools required in plants for the production of high quality parts.
Providing technical direction to and oversight of outside vendor sources
Work may involve development and testing of advanced process technology.
Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):
3 years of experience in paint equipment, applications and troubleshooting using robotic equipment.
Experience working as a Paint Process Engineer or Paint Equipment Installer
Ability to manage a small group of hourly UAW employees.
Leadership experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Capable of working all shifts.
What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
Bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering
Journeyman's card
Skilled Trades experience
5+ years of experience in paint equipment, applications and troubleshooting using robotic equipment
