Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world’s leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking a Trademark Paralegal for the Trademark Portfolio Services department of the Intellectual Property Practice Group. The Trademark Paralegal will be responsible for providing assistance to attorneys in all aspects of trademark portfolio management, copyright portfolio management, and IP due diligence.
This position will reside in the Washington, DC office with a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule. Flexibility with overtime is required.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing applications for trademark and service mark registration.
Preparing ancillary prosecution and maintenance filings.
Preparing Trademark Trial and Appeal Board filings and trademark record title update filings.
Assisting with trademark and copyright due diligence.
Performing online preliminary trademark clearance searches, and preparing search guides.
Preparing applications for copyright registrations.
Drafting correspondence to clients and local counsel related to trademark prosecution and maintenance issues.
Keeping attorneys apprised of upcoming deadlines and coordinating with attorneys to keep clients updated of same.
Performing other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Experience and qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree.
A minimum of two to three (2-3) years of trademark prosecution/maintenance experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
A paralegal Certificate is strongly preferred.
Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of attention to detail.
Advanced knowledge of legal research and investigation skills.
Proven ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
Ability to prioritize workload, assignments, and client needs.
Ability to adapt to change and balance competing demands, and function as an integral part of a fast-paced team environment.

For positions in Washington D.C., the salary range for this job posting is
$62,000.00 - $99,200.00.The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, the employee will be in an "at-will position" and the firm reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, firm or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
