The Job You Will Perform:
The Senior Manager, Global Telecommunications, is accountable for all telecommunications services (including third-party providers) for the Global Cellulose Fibers (GCF) Business worldwide. Global Telecommunications Senior Manager responsibilities include:
- Manage and direct the Global Telecommunications (GT) departments of International Paper to be a global, world class organization with business-aligned solutions, outstanding quality of service, and a clear commitment to its customers.
- Manage and direct the following Global Telecommunications organizational units (Data Network Infrastructure, Data Network Services, Managed LAN Services, Voice Services & Engineering, and Telecom Architecture, Processes & Metrics), ensuring each unit provides effective and cost-efficient services at the appropriate level to all International Paper businesses and facilities.
- Establish a clear understanding of our customers’ requirements and their business strategies; then aligning GT strategies, services, and solutions to the businesses’ strategies.
- Coordinate with Global Sourcing on all activities associated with GT contract renewals, including RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs as appropriate.
- Develop quarterly vendor scorecards for all key vendor-supplied services to monitor and track the vendor’s service delivery performance.
- Manage monthly reconciliation of GT budgets, annual employee reviews, and salary adjustments.
- Benefit the GCF Business by ensuring high-quality, appropriate levels of data and voice communications services across all GCF locations, including:
- 8 countries
- 25 International Paper GCF facilities – mills, plants, warehouses, sales offices, etc.
- 12+ IPT deployments, 4,040 IPT phones, and legacy TDM PBXs
- Managing 1,1370+ switches and 1,159+ access points
- Provide a uniform and single source for all data and voice technology solutions and services, leveraging vendor pricing to affect the $4+MM budget in this space.
- Standardize all telecommunication technologies to ensure consistency, quality, and availability of all critical data and voice communication services.

- Building high level IT operational knowledge in the areas of Telecommunications and other technical operational areas
- Building detailed functional and operational knowledge in the areas of data and voice design, implementation, and management/support.
