The Human Resources Business Partner plays an active role in providing support and solutions on human resource projects and services, particularly focusing on employee relations. This position is responsible for advising and counseling management and employees on HR programs, including coaching, corrective actions, employee recognition, and retention initiatives. Ensures that HR policies are effectively administered and compliant with legal requirements while enhancing communication within the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Partner with MMT managers to support all people processes including compensation, talent development, performance management, employee relations, change management, and organizational design.
- Provide guidance on employee relations matters, including corrective action, disciplinary procedures and terminations, to ensure consistency and compliance with legal and internal policies.
- Support talent and workforce planning to ensure employees are onboarded, resourced, trained, and developed according to company best practices, and assist in driving any necessary interventions and actions when needed.
- Design and implement talent initiatives to improve performance, engagement, development and retention for your assigned business area.
- Coach and train managers on handling employee issues to improve team performance and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Guide and support performance management, including coaching managers on evaluations and ongoing performance monitoring.
- Collaborate with HR Operations, Recruiting, Payroll and other departments (eg finance, communications) to deliver people focused initiatives.
- Assist in creating job descriptions to attract and retain top talent.
- Participate in the hiring process for managerial roles to help build a strong leadership pipeline.
- Develop and implement HR initiatives aligned with the company goals including project management, implementation, communication and roll-out.
- Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, offering strategic and tactical HR support.
- Stay informed on HR trends and best practices.
- Ensure a strong understanding of laws and regulations to help the company stay in compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in human resources with an emphasis on employee relations required.
- Proven experience in an HR role, representing policies and practices to managers and employees.
- Experience with a human capital management system, preferably Paycom
- Highly professional demeanor and diplomatic skills
- Consultative approach, strong analytical, problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously.
- Self-directed and solutions/goal-oriented work style.
