About the role:
We are looking for a strategic, results-oriented leader to drive Samsara’s NPI planning process and manage supply chain fiscal strategy to meet revenue and cost targets. You will lead a team that owns product lifecycle support and new product introduction, financial accountability, and strategic initiatives aimed at improving operational processes.
The ideal candidate for this role has a proven track record of managing product lifecycles and is a strategic problem solver/influencer at all levels of the organization. You see the big picture and look holistically at how each piece fits into a larger customer lifecycle experience, understanding the financial impacts of decisions from a gross margin, COGS, cash flow, and accounting perspective. You excel at partnering across the organization and have the intellectual curiosity to deeply understand Samsara’s product suite and the solution set for customers.
This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the US except Alaska, Austin metro, California, Chicago metro, Connecticut, Dallas metro, Denver metro, Houston metro, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Washington, and Washington DC metro.
In this role, you will:
- Own cross-functional communication on hardware product launch dates in conjunction with the sustaining Demand Planning team, setting plans that consider go to market factors and minimize E&O exposure.
- Communicate to leadership regarding overall NPI program health, changes in business trends, and risks & opportunities to the plan of record.
- Manage average selling price (ASP) forecasts, discounting trends, and deal cycle analytics that feed into sustaining Demand Planning team, collaborating on insights and areas of opportunity.
- Identify synergies and areas of opportunity to drive revenue improvement by geography and sales segmentation.
- Liaise with F&S team on long term financial outlook (i.e. revenue, cash flow, warranty, and E&O), aligning on budget specifics that support company objectives and managing operations within budget guidelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing data-driven insights to support strategic decisions and gaining buy-in from key executive stakeholders (e.g. Procurement cost drivers and Product roadmaps).
- Scope and own high impact projects that don’t fit neatly within one team’s scope, ensuring holistic solutions that drive top and bottom line impact.
- Establish a deep understanding of Samsara’s business, products, and company priorities to assist Demand Planners and Supply Planners with insights for new programs / features, customer trends, and continuous improvement.
- Assist in developing the Planning strategic roadmap, measuring and reporting progress on programs in flight and improving processes based on a comprehensive understanding of Samsara's mission and strategic goal.
- Cultivate long-term relationships with key stakeholders and customers, understanding their needs and how Samsara can meet them.
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant analytical field (e.g. finance / economics / mathematics / computer science / data science).10+ years experience in forecasting, demand planning, financial planning, or similar function, with at least 3+ years directly managing teams.
- Proven ability to attract and hire top talent, with a passion for coaching, mentoring, and developing others, using a humble leadership approach to drive a high-performing team.
- Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to quickly synthesize information in a digestible format for a wide variety
