Job Title: Senior Packaging Engineer

What we’re looking for:

 

We are looking for a dynamic and innovative experienced Senior Packaging Engineer who will be responsible for leading refrigerated merchandise packaging engineering efforts, candidate will manage the development and execution of the current packaging process roadmap and NPD projects, working with internal design, manufacturing, & reliability teams and external material, equipment, & manufacturing suppliers

 

What you’ll be responsible for in this role:  

 

  • Manage engineering package for NPD and Quality projects from concept to completion, including scheduling, cost & labor savings deliverables. Implement and design new packaging material to improve the current design follow-up stage/gate process.
  • Collaborate in strategic projects within Sourcing, Production, Quality, Warranty/Services, and Intercompany to provide guidance and technical support to product specs, data analysis, and technical recommendations
  • Collaborate with manufacturing during the product development stage to provide packaging solutions to issues during the product implementation.
  • Develop 3D CAD models, assembly, drawings, and create & audit structured BOM, released ECNs as well as PDM experience (Solid Works Manage & Enovia preferred)
  • Ensure the new packaging complies with codes, agency listings (UL)
  • Coordinate the request and follow-up of prototyping construction for new products.
  • Lead test plan revisions during the product development (DVP) with the lab engineer to validate the product and have an FMEA review with the team.
  • Ability to effectively solve problems using techniques (A3, fishbone, root cause, 5-Whys) Conducts regular design, quality, cost, manufacturability, and safety reviews with project team and support functions.
  • Perform Packaging requirements & follow up with vendors' new tooling.
  • Leading Quality and Continuous improvement projects related to Packaging material
  • The candidate will be responsible for the product Integrity and packaging creation of project plans including timeline, cost, and risk assessments and mitigation plan.
  • Manage Engineer packaging requirements for current production, packaging documentation, and management of packaging line trials at new product development stages.
