Senior Project Manager

The Integrated Products Division of Applied Research Associates, Inc. is looking for a Senior Project Management Supervisor to join our team! This is an exciting opportunity in which we are looking for a qualified candidate to lead an amazing team of engineering project managers working on a mix of production, project, and R&D work. The team oversees projects from proposal through close-out and works closely alongside our customers. In this role, you will have an opportunity to interface with customers, deliver products, and shape the trajectory of our business.

As a Senior Project Management Supervisor, you will be responsible for financial performance, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction across our project deck with support from your team. In this role, you will work with engineering, production, quality, sourcing, and upper management to ensure success for our customers. 

• Essential Functions:
  • Effective Project Leadership – lead by example for project management team.
  • Track project health across the deck of projects that your team manages.
  • Interview project managers to support our growing deck of projects.
  • Develop goals and complete performance reviews for your team at the end of the fiscal year.
  • Understand resource/schedule conflicts and mitigate with project priority decisions when required. Escalate issues to the leadership team when needed.
  • Support and/or lead new business development opportunities.
  • Hold regular 1:1s with the project management team.
  • Mentor and identify 3rd party training opportunities for the project management team.
  • Travel to customer or other ARA sites for marketing, design reviews, and technology demonstrations. (~10% travel).
  • Collect customer feedback on team performance to drive improvements.
• Required Experience and Skills:
  • Requires Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical field
  • 10-12 years of related project management experience
  • Effective communicator
  • Experience leading complex technical projects involving mechanical, electrical, software disciplines and associated interfaces.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office Tools; Word, Excel, Power Point and Project
• Preferred:
  • Prior experience leading a team
  • PMP certification or willingness to pursue certification
  • ISO 9001/AS9100 quality assurance experience
