Sr. Engineering Project Manager at TSI
The Sr. Engineering Project Manager for Continuation will own and drive prioritization, planning, and execution of continuation projects (or, ‘sustaining engineering’ projects). Through close collaboration with engineers, product managers, manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and other cross-functional team members, this person will manage many concurrent projects of all sizes – from small, single-day efforts to large projects requiring a full team’s focus for months.
This role will include leading a cross-functional team in regular review and prioritization of new requests, and coordinate with Engineering Management to ensure work is staffed and executed in a timely manner once prioritized. The Sr. Engineering Project Manager will lead regular status reporting of all ongoing continuation work, and escalate if additional support is required. These continuation efforts support TSI products across multiple value streams, from indoor/outdoor monitoring of airborne dust/aerosols, to assessing the indoor air quality and ventilation efficiency of commercial/residential buildings, and more.
The ideal candidate will be a high-energy individual with experience in positively motivating engineering teams to deliver outstanding hardware and software projects on-time and on-budget. They will be a strong facilitator, skilled influencer, and outcome-focused individual with excellent communication skills.
What Will You Do?
In order to grow and build a successful career with TSI, you will be responsible for:
- Administering and improving efficient systems for project communication, such as prioritization meetings, team meetings, status reports, and documentation repositories
- Managing expectations of cross-functional stakeholders regarding the priority and progress of requested and in-progress work
- Recognizing product risks and issues quickly, rapidly acting to mitigate and escalate, as required
- Leading project teams through the planning and execution of large continuation projects
- Working with Engineering Management to ensure priority work is staffed and executed in a timely manner
- Interfacing with sourcing team to resolve issues related to part obsolescence on existing products
- Communicating project status to senior management and other company stakeholders, highlighting successes, risks, issues, and mitigation plans
- Leveraging strong communication skills to collaborate across engineering, project management, marketing, quality, supply chain, compliance, and operations to meet project goals
What Do You Need?
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of related experience in project management, leading new product development or continuation/sustaining engineering projects
- Experience with project management software and tools
- Strong leadership, facilitation, and task management skills
- Proven history of successful project planning, risk mitigation, and execution
- Strong verbal, written, and graphic communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, and business stakeholders
- Proven ability to balance competing priorities and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, for both self and others’ work
- Familiarity with project management methodologies, such as Agile and Waterfall

- Master’s Degree or MBA
- PMI certification
- Agile certification
- Direct experience with managing projects of varying sizes related to continuation/sustaining engineering
- Experience in managing large numbers of disparate tasks and facilitating difficult priority calls
- Strong operations experience in supporting existing products and evaluating and resolving design and quality issues
- Demonstrated ability to foster continuous improvement in process and communication methodologies
- Technical engineering leadership experience
- Experience with the Jira task management software <
