Job Overview:
The Assistant Baseball Coach and Head Developmental Coach for the Baseball program works under the direction of the head coach and assists with the administration of a successful Division III athletic program. Responsibilities include coaching, recruiting, instructing, advising, counseling, and other administrative duties as assigned by the head coach or Athletic Director. This position is partially funded through the NCAA Division III Coaching Enhancement Grant, and the successful candidate must meet the necessary criteria as outlined within those guidelines.
Essential Functions:
- Work under the direction of the head coach for baseball program. This includes serving as head coach of the Albertus developmental baseball team for its contests.
- Assist with the administration of a successful Division III athletic program, including but not limited to:
- Coaching/instructing
- Recruiting
- Academics/advising/counseling
- Film breakdown/scouting
- Fiscal Operations
- Other administrative duties (transportation, equipment, etc.)
- Serve as a positive role model for all student-athletes and represent Albertus Magnus College in a professional, responsible, and positive manner.
- Follow all NCAA, conference, and Athletics Department guidelines.
- Foster a culture of compliance with NCAA rules and regulations, and to assist with the promotion of an environment of institutional control over intercollegiate athletics by Albertus Magnus College.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience at the collegiate, club, and/or scholastic levels as a student-athlete and/or coach.
- Knowledge of collegiate rules and demonstrated compliance with said rules.
Relevant work experience may be substituted to meet qualifications for the position
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience as a student-athlete or coach of the sport(s).
- General understanding of the recruiting process at the college level.
- A demonstrated commitment to the NCAA Division III philosophy regarding the student-athlete experience.
