A Senior Software Engineer for the NCITE team is responsible for designing and developing new applications, enhancing existing applications, solving problems, and resolving defects. The Engineer will review requirements, develop the architecture and design of features (including the relevant documentation), develop application prototypes, participate in design and code reviews, and program (including unit testing). The Engineer must be able to demonstrate technical excellence in his/her personal work as well as contribute to the team's continued success by sharing technical knowledge.

As our Senior Software Engineer, you’ll support HID’s success by: 

• Developing enhancements to NCITE systems. This includes requirements analysis, design, and development.
• Providing maintenance on existing NCITE code. This includes product changes and defect remediation.
• Operating as a mentor to other engineers, providing an open learning environment for cross-team knowledge sharing.
• Playing a vocal role in design and code reviews.
• Functioning within an agile/SAFE environment.
• Mentoring less senior team members
• Leading less senior team members through challenging project requirements

 

 

Your Experience and Background include:  

• A sound working knowledge of Elixir/Phoenix, Objective-C and/or Swift, Java and/or Kotlin
• Work proficiently in server-side environments
• Work proficiently in web client-side environments
• Work proficiently in iOS/Android client-side environments.
• Experience designing and developing web applications including HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
• Experience with web services, especially HTTP, REST, JSON.
• Experience with the Software Revision Control System git.
• Ability to keep up with emerging technologies and to utilize new technologies where appropriate.
• Must be a self-starter, able to work independently as well as part of a team, and have a proven track record.
