Job Responsibilities

· Assists the Dietary/Food Services Manager and Registered Dietician in overseeing the food and nutrition service program and assessing food preferences and nutritional needs of residents

· Assists Sous Chef and culinary team with delivering high quality and nutritious meals to the residents

· Assists in supervision of health center food and nutrition staff

· Schedules work assignments and cleaning schedules for food and nutrition staff and ensures that all standards are met

· In conjunction with or in absence of the Dietary/Food Services Manager, supervises the physical appearance and ambience of dining rooms and server stations, including table settings and arrangements, floors, drapes, and lighting

· Ensures accuracy of daily meal counts

Qualifications

· At least 1 year of supervisory experience in food and nutrition service operations in a healthcare setting preferred

· Associate degree in dietary and nutrition preferred

· ServSafe™ certification preferred

· Ability to explain menus, answer questions, respond to requests, and coordinate meal service process

· Communicates effectively with all levels, including food & nutrition team, dietician, nursing staff, culinary team, other departments, and residents
