Miscellaneous Temp - Warehouse Worker (Health Services)

Position Summary

Works under the general supervision of a manager to perform routine manual and physical duties in and around a warehouse or storage facility. Responsibilities include receiving, organizing, storing, inventorying, and delivering supplies and equipment. Operates a forklift and other material-handling equipment to safely load, unload, move, and store products and inventory.

Pay Grade: 41H

Minimum Qualifications

• Six (6) months of related unskilled work experience; AND 
• Graduated from an accredited high school or possess a GED. 
• PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED. 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepares orders by processing requests and assembling supplies for distribution.
• Unboxes, organizes, and stores merchandise and supplies in designated warehouse locations.
• Receives and inspects incoming shipments for damaged items, shortages, and undocumented or unordered merchandise.
• Safely operates a forklift and other material-handling equipment to load, unload, move, and store products, supplies, and inventory.
• Maintains the warehouse, tools, forklift, and other equipment in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Assists with warehouse inventory counts, stock control, and inventory reconciliations.
• Safely loads and unloads trucks and delivers supplies and equipment to designated locations.
• Maintains accurate records of deliveries in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Assists with maintaining records related to warehouse tools and equipment, requisitions, shipping invoices, inventories, purchase orders, and delivered items.
• Follows all applicable safety procedures when operating a forklift and handling warehouse materials.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.

KSAs

• Knowledge of basic warehousing, storage, and distribution methods and procedures.
• Knowledge of basic math skills.
• Ability to adhere to safety rules and regulations related to warehouse operations and euipment usage
• Ability to communicate and follow instructions effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment, including vehicles and forklifts.
• Ability to read and write at the level required for successful job performance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other County software applications.

Special Requirements

• Must have a valid TN driver’s license or secure one as of the employment date and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
• Must be able to work in a warehouse.
• Must have a valid forklift certification.
• Must maintain all required licenses, certifications, and training credentials throughout the duration of employment.

Physical Requirements 

• Must be able to stoop, squat, crawl, and perform other physical duties as needed to investigate locations and animals and to apprehend animals when needed.
• Must be able to lift or pull up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Must be able to work in all types of weather.
• Must successfully pass a physical assessment.
