The Office of Global Services serves as a resource for schools, faculty, and administrators engaged globally and for international students and scholars here on campus. Our mission is to serve and support the Georgetown community in engaging a more open and connected world.
The Administrative Coordinator (AC) provides administrative support to the Office of Global Services (OGS); coordinates the strategy for the Office of Global Services (OGS) website and develops and implements the communications and outreach plan for OGS; supports the immigration document issuance process during; and provides website support to all three teams in OGS. The position will be Hybrid with 4 in-office days. After the probationary period, the position will be Hybrid with 3 in-office days, including one day at the Capitol Campus.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Offer administrative support to the Office of Global Services both on the Hilltop and Capitol Campuses.
Under the direction of the Director of Global Services, work on a communications strategy and development of publications, offering website and technology support.
Assist the International Student Services team with immigration document issuance and review during key times in the admissions process.
Work with campus administrators to ensure that for-credit study abroad course sections are created and appropriate fees are attached.
Work Interactions
The Office of Global Services has a direct impact on the international character and identity of the university. International and global initiatives are among the top priorities at Georgetown and significantly impact the University’s reputation and ability to recruit excellent students, professors and researcher. The Office of Global Services is responsible for non-credit bearing international initiatives training, graduate school international programs support, university-wide training on international initiatives development, immigration advising, and partnerships and agreements. This position will be critical in supporting the OGS team as they deliver quality service and resources to their constituents The AC interacts and collaborates with all members of Global Services, the main campus academic deans (administrators), administrative offices, and key senior administrators. This position may also represent Georgetown and Global Services externally at regional and national events.��
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
2-3 years administrative experience in a high paced, professional environment required; Experience in a higher education/academic environment preferred
Ability to communicate effectively and use technology and the web for publications and outreach
Broad knowledge of the issues and trends facing the international education field and an understanding of agreements and budgets preferred
Experience in, or a willingness to learn about information and communications technologies
Understanding of website and publication design and maintenance, and writing for websites strongly desired
Excellent writing, attention to detail, and communication skills required
Work Mode Designation
This position has been designated as Hybrid with 4 in-office days. After the probationary period, the position will be Hybrid with 3 in-office days, including one day at the Capitol Campus.
