FLSA Status:      Nonexempt

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The overall purpose is to provide daily janitorial and custodial services to locations specified in the contract. *Responsibilities may differ depending on the contract. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Thoroughly cleans and disinfects restrooms.
2. Cleans and disinfects counter tops, sinks, toilets, and/or urinals.
3. Cleans and disinfects door latches, walls, and bathroom stall partitions.
4. Ensures toilet paper dispensers are refilled as needed.
5. Sweeps and mops floors.
6. Cleans and disinfects hand dryers.
7. Cleans and disinfects baby changing stations.
8. Refills soap dispensers as needed.
9. Cleans all mirrors and glass surfaces.
10. Ensures all light fixtures are clean and all lights are operational. Replaces lightbulbs as needed.
11. Ensures bathrooms do not have any noticeable odors.
12. Ensures all family restrooms are clean and functional.
13. Cleans utility areas of buildings.
14. Cleans and disinfects all water fountains.
15. Cleans foyer areas.
16. Cleans and disinfects doors, handles, and commonly touched areas. clean
17. Ensures walls are clean and painted surfaces are in good condition where applicable.
18. Ensures all signs are clean and functional.
19. Empties trash receptacles and ensures they are clean, functional, and equipped with plastic liner bags.
20. Clears exterior premises of all trash and debris including sidewalk, curb, gutter, and parking lot.
21. Maintains the lawn and garden in a clean and orderly condition.
22. Ensures picnic slabs, tables, and shelters are clean, well-maintained, and functional.
23. Cleans vending machine areas.
24. Ensures supplies and equipment are stored and locked up in appropriate rooms and/or closets.
25. Ensures adequate supplies are available.
26. Completes other duties as assigned.

Secondary Functions:

1. Ensures walkways, roadways, and parking lots are clear of snow and ice.
2. Cleans internal and external windows twice a year.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Education and/or Experience:

• • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and
  • Six (6) months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

• • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Other Qualifications: Must be at least 21 years of age.

Physical Demands:

• • Walking significant distances.
  • Running occasionally.
