This front desk medical assistant position is located at Children’s Wellness Center in Del Valle, TX. This is a full-time position funded by a grant until 12/31/2026, with the possibility of continuation contingent on available funding. General schedule is Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm, schedule may change to include some weekend hours.
Purpose
To provide clerical operation management at the Children's Wellness Center in Del Valle, TX.
Responsibilities
Answer clinic phones, schedule patient appointments and make reminder calls.
Accurately register patients and documents billing information.
Provide patients eligibility information for services.
Receive and record payments and issue receipts.
Maintain confidential patient documents.
Evaluates and distributes incoming mail, reports and/or inquiries.
Required Qualifications
Completion of a Medical Assistant program
Speak fluent English and Spanish.
Minimum of one year of work experience performing Medical Assistant related duties.
Ability to use computer equipment.
Demonstrated excellent organization and interpersonal skills.
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with providers, staff, and patients.
Adherence to the highest ethical, legal, and health care standards.
Accuracy in all phases of work performed including following written and verbal instructions.
Tact, diplomacy, discretion and confidentiality of medical information are required in all matters.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
More than one year of experience as a front desk medical assistant.
Medical Assistant Certification
Driving Required
This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).
Salary Range
$34,320 annually
