Specifically, we work with proprietary customers in the development of next-generation technologies, which includes observables, self-protection, communications/networks/command and control, and distributed sensors.
Phantom Works is the front end of the business in BDS, with a focus on maturing technology, rapid prototyping, and transitioning of mission-focused technologies for a variety of customers. Our group works all facets of engineering from technology investment; concept development; proposal writing; requirements generation; and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of technology (TRL 2-4).
You will be a part of the Boeing Phantom Works advanced R&D team, chartered with developing differentiated capabilities and technologies by relentlessly pursuing innovation in design, thinking and execution.
The goal of this leadership position is to develop, integrate, and evolve various PW technologies involving advanced communication, computing, cyber resilience and command & control, as well as to expand and develop employee skillsets, knowledge, experience, and capabilities into this emerging product area. This position will lead tight collaboration with BR&T to leverage investment and expertise to develop capabilities that will resolve future warfighting challenges and drive business growth.
Position Responsibilities:
- Responsible for growing and managing the Advanced Communication, Computer, Cyber & C2 (AC5) technology portfolio aligned to BDS Division goals and strategies, while meeting allocated LRBP targets
- Responsible for strategic planning & alignment ensuring the technology portfolio supports long-term business objectives, including developing/guiding technology & product roadmaps near/mid/long-term aligned to BDS Division goals and strategies to establish development timelines, milestones and integration pathways
- Responsible for maturing and transitioning AC5 technologies and capabilities that enable BDS BU programs to achieve their strategic goals (near/mid/long-term), including developing technology transition plans and contributing to a Tech Base Transition Playbook
- Responsible for managing investment & resource allocation to ensure projects in the AC5 portfolio meet budget, schedule and performance requirements, in accordance with Boeing PM Best Practices and USG contractual requirements, including the Enterprise Standardized Gate Process; participate in developing & assessing key performance indicators to project success
- Leads, mentors, develops and motivates employees of a cross-function team in performing activities in accordance with PW Tech Base goals and priorities, in coordination with functional leadership; has overall responsibility for implementing the PW SMS program and managing team culture/morale
- Responsible for active risk management to include identifying & managing technical, financial, and operational risks associated with portfolio activities
- Responsible for compliance with USG security guidance related to the AC5 portfolio and program areas
- Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports to foster a strong AC5 technology ecosystem, secure concurrence and security/contractual compliance
- Develops and executes integrated Tech Base plans, policies and procedures and provides input on Tech Base business and technical strategies, goals, and objectives.
- Responsible for proactively coordinating and acquiring required resources (personnel, facilities, funding, etc) for AC5 portfolio activities.
- Supports innovation & competitive analysis by staying ahead of industry trends, evaluating competitor technologies and identifying disruptive innovations that could impact the portfolio
- Oversee any related consortium efforts aligned to the AC5 portfolio in order to protect Boeing equities and guide BDS programs with the best course of action for compliance
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. (Everett, WA or Berkeley, MO)
This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
