Summary:

The Neuroscience Director, Patient Access Strategy & Marketing is responsible for building, leading, coaching, developing, and energizing a team. The team effectively launches, sustains, tracks, and improves our ongoing patient support services program, strategy, and tactics for the BMS portfolio of Neuroscience products. The position has accountability for operational excellence of existing programs and new launches. In the short-term, he/she will lead strategic development and implementation of institution/hospital patient support program(s) focused on mitigating transitions of care challenges which will then integrate with existing patient support outpatient programs This position’s ideal candidates is passionate about developing solutions that improve patient access to medication and treatment while taking a lead role in partnering with a matrix team while developing and mentoring a team. The Director will incorporate a patient centric approach in their commitment in helping minimize reimbursement and access barriers for BMS patients.   

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a subject matter expert on the reimbursement and access landscape, and educates matrix peers regarding access programs

  • Identify ways to constantly improve the patient journey regarding access, time to therapy, transitions of care, and adherence to the providers’ recommended therapy.

  • Conduct, and if needed, collaborate with the matrix team on industry benchmarking, stakeholder analysis, market research, and patient and provider surveys to ensure BMS is launching and operating successful programs

  • Mentor, support, and develop the PASS Neuroscience team during new product launches or new indications to ensure effective rollout of hub processes, effective operation of new programs, and to proactively mitigate potential risks.

  • Partner with the field team leaders to ensure partners have full visibility into patient services programs, including access to current, compliant materials to support their healthcare provider (HCP) customers.

  • Direct PASS team in management of program budgets, invoice reconciliation, and workforce planning

  • Lead multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, dynamic, and entrepreneurial environment, adapting to change as needed.

  • Any other duties needed to help drive to our vision, fulfill our mission, and abide by our organization’s values.

  • Collaborate and work across cross-functional teams including, but not limited to, Brand, Legal, IT, and the broader PASS/MAx organization, to ensure strategies and initiatives are integrated and aligned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Health or Life Sciences, Healthcare Administration, or related field required; advanced degree (MBA, MA Public Health, PharmD, etc.) preferred.

  • 7+ years in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or commercial life sciences industries with 3+ years in patient services (including 1-2 years leading patient services) required.

  • Relevant experience with hub models, Medicare, Medicare Part D, Medicaid field schedules, private insurance payer policies, reimbursement process/coverage, hiring and managing a patient service team, reimbursement methodologies by setting of care disease state, prior authorization and appeal requirements, coding changes, appropriate claim submission, buy and bill, specialty pharmacy, etc.

  • Experience in Neuroscience and the hospital inpatient/Behavioral Health Unit setting is preferred.

  • Experience working with data aggregators and specialty pharmacy partners is preferred.
