The Department of Medical Education has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior Manager, Programs  to work in Miami, FL. The senior manager, programs oversees the day-to-day administrative management of assigned program(s) within the department and works to ensure the successful implementation of all educational initiatives such as student registration, course management, faculty evaluations, and graduation clearances and commencement. Furthermore, the senior manager, programs serves as the liaison to leadership, faculty, students, and staff.     

  • Serves as main point of contact for students and remains available to assist with inquiries.

  • Prepares, maintains, and reports on program effectiveness.

  • Assists with managing program budget by monitoring expenditures.

  • Stays abreast of market trends and legislation impacting program functions.

  • Checks, verifies, organizes, and prepares grants, procurement, and other program relevant documents.

  • Supervises, monitors, trains, and evaluates program staff members to ensure compliance with applicable policies and procedures.

  • Coordinates logistics for program events and activities.

  • Works with other departments to increase program awareness.

  • Identifies new needs and emerging issues and develops new programs, initiatives, and resources.

  • Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS                                                                                                            

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field required, Master’s Degree in relevant field preferred

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience

  • Knowledge of business and management principles.

  • Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.

  • Ability to establish department goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan.

  • Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.

  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others.

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS

  • Manages all evaluations for courses and clerkships, ranging from the creation, distribution and collection of evaluations.

  • Develops the CQI improvement process for defined areas in conjunction with subject matter leaders

  • Discusses the objectives and measures upon which the process will be evaluated

  • Determines the resources required to complete each project with subject matter leaders

  • Establishes and documents comprehensive program plans, and timelines, which identify and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete projects

  • Reviews project schedules with leadership and other staff that will be affected by the project activities

  • Monitors the progress of the projects and makes adjustments to ensure successful completion

  • Documents all project-related activities, and ensures project files are maintained and secured accordingly

  • Creates a communication schedule to update stakeholders, including input and approval as appropriate from committees in the organization on the progress of projects

  • Prepares presentations and presents status reports for leadership

  • Helps structure the data collection with the subject matter stakeholders

  • Coordinates administrative tasks for LACE (Learner Assessment and Curriculum Evaluation).

  • Coordinates relevant implementation and development tasks in Elantra

  • Oversight & Daily Management of the Department of Medical Education teach
