GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience or training that has provided the candidate with the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts, accessories, and components, and to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications; in the use of hand tools and test equipment. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: WG-10: Must possess at least Eighteen (18) months of experience or training installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting, and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification; experience coordinating the work of other mechanics, and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow; must have the ability to instruct lower graded mechanics, military and other personnel in the disassembly and re-assembly of crash damaged engines, transmissions, gearboxes, hydraulic components, and fuel controls sufficient for the exhibit to be returned to its shipping container. WG-12: Must possess at least Thirty-Six (36) months of experience or training installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification; coordinating the work of other mechanics, and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow; to instruct lower graded mechanics, military and other personnel in the disassembly and re-assembly of crash damaged engines, transmissions, gearboxes, hydraulic components, and fuel controls sufficient for the exhibit to be returned to its shipping container. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: 1. This is an Air National Guard dual status technician position which requires military membership. 2. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position. *3. Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. 4. The duties and responsibilities of your job may significantly impact the environment. You are responsible to maintain awareness of your environmental responsibilities as dictated by legal and regulatory requirements, your organization, and its changing mission. 5. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. 6. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. 7. Employee is required to wear safety clothing and equipment appropriate for the job and work area where assigned or as directed by the supervisor. Work may require wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as steel toed boots, rubber glove, masks, rubber aprons, etc. 8. The position requires the incumbent to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station. The incumbent must be willing and able to travel on military and commercial aircraft. 9. May be required to obtain government operator's license for up to 10,000-pound forklifts. 10. This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP). The employee is subject to random drug testing. Pre- employment drug testing and participation in random drug testing is a condition of employment. Note: The caveat is that the states, territories, and the district cannot drug test until a drug free workplace policy has been established and approved by the United States Department of Health and Human Services and the employee has had 60 days of notification that they are subject to random testing under the approved plan.
