The team drives the entire design lifecycle from early-stage site feasibility through final technology fit-out, establishing the foundation for seamless construction and long-term operational success. Through continuous technical innovation and standardization, they enable CoreWeave to rapidly and reliably scale its physical footprint to meet global infrastructure demands.</p> <h3>About the role:</h3> <p>The Medium Voltage Substation/Distribution Design Engineer leads the electrical design and engineering of medium voltage substations (15kV - 230kV) across CoreWeave's data center campus portfolio. On a day-to-day basis, you will own power infrastructure projects from early concept through construction support, executing substation layouts, equipment selection, single-line diagrams, and protection/control schemes. You will act as a hands-on technical expert, developing core design concepts, reviewing power systems analysis studies (short-circuit, load flow, arc flash), and directing external engineering consultants to produce high-quality deliverables. Additionally, you will integrate advanced on-site generation systems—including BESS, turbines, and automatic transfer schemes—while mentoring junior engineers to ensure all distribution solutions are safe, code-compliant, and optimized for high-density power demands.
