Are you our future Automation Specialist?
Valmet is looking for a skilled and motivated Automation Specialist to join our Service team focusing on slitter winders. In this role, you will work mainly at our customers’ sites within the paper machine industry, performing independent tuning and repair tasks and ensuring smooth start-ups after maintenance.
Your responsibilities will include:
Tuning and troubleshooting slitter winders
Ensuring successful start-ups after maintenance
Planning work tasks in cooperation with customer representatives
Analyzing data from customer mills and creating recommendations based on findings
Planning and executing customer deliveries, ensuring safety and quality
Supporting maintenance sales and participating in project execution with the project team
This role requires independent planning of customer visits, recommending necessary actions and modernizations, and adapting to tight project schedules.
What we expect from you:
Degree in Electrical or Automation Engineering
Strong IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
Fluent communication skills in Finnish and English
Knowledge of machine control automation systems such as Siemens S7 and/or Valmet DNA is an advantage
Ability to work independently, take responsibility, and make decisions within your area
Willingness to travel frequently in Finland and abroad
Adaptability to different cultures and varying conditions
Previous experience in paper machine automation is considered a plus.

Additional information:
The Service Specialist team for this area of expertise is based at Valmet’s Tikkurila office in Vantaa. Our primary goal is to fill this position in Vantaa, but Jyväskylä and Tampere are also possible locations.
