About the role
Job Description
Advance Auto Parts is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accounting Manager to lead our Accounting AP and Cash functions. As the Manager, you will play a key role in collaborating with the AP operations, inventory, procurement, treasury, and other onshore/offshore teams to ensure all activities related to the AP and cash are accurately recorded and results are analyzed to ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate effectively with the Accounts Payable operations, treasury and other teams to identify root causes and resolve issues. Foster strong working relationships across departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Participate in period close process, prepare and analyze accounts payable reports and cash fluctuations. Provide commentary where needed.
- Review and approve journal entries, run account analysis and period close exception reports.
- Review periodic account reconciliations, along with detailed review and monitoring of items categorized as unidentified differences.
- Supervise and mentor accounts payable & cash accounting team. Provide guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure high levels of productivity and accuracy.
- Liaise with Store General Managers or Asset Protection Managers on cash variances and other cash related adjustments.
- Identify and address financial risks related to accounts payable and cash functions.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Assist with ad hoc projects, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in general accounting with a focus on accounts payable and cash.
- Experience working in a publicly traded company with offshore operations preferred.
- Experience using Oracle or similar ERP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in leading and developing teams.
