JOB OVERVIEW
As Technical Field Support Manager, this role is responsible for directing, prioritizing, and managing Global Delivery Operations/Global Field Support activities in Americas. Act as bridge between Global functions and Area/Front Line. Coordinate and execute product piloting and deployment together with KTI, Operations, Services, Modernization and Supply Line. Responsible for development and delivery of applications and processes supporting new and/or existing Kone technologies.
Responsibilities:
Manage coordinate and provide effective technical support for field organizations.
Provide remote and on-site technical support for Front Lines in installation, modernization and maintenance technical issues
Provide technical support to ensure customer satisfaction
Provide input and guidance to Global KTI related to the development of new technologies.
Plan and lead the introduction of new technologies into the field (e.g. KCE, Digital solutions)
Pilot and deploy new products and solutions to field
Provide remote, helpdesk and on-site support to Kone Front Lines outside of the Americas
- Participate Global workshops and trainings
The ideal candidate for the Technical Field Support Manager role is a highly organized and technically skilled professional with the ability to communicate complex engineering concepts clearly to both internal and external stakeholders. This individual should be comfortable engaging directly with customers, managing multiple priorities simultaneously, and effectively presenting technical information to varied audiences, including clients and management teams.
A strong foundation in reading and interpreting construction drawings, electrical/hydraulic schematics, and technical procedures is essential, along with the ability to write clear reports and business correspondence. The candidate should demonstrate advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, including applied mathematical concepts such as geometry and statistics. Experience navigating ambiguous situations with minimal standardization is key. This role requires someone who is comfortable traveling on short notice and has the professionalism to potentially serve as an expert witness in legal proceedings.
HIRING REQUIREMENTS:4-year college level engineering degree in a technical discipline or equivalent
6 years minimum technical experience with field operations or maintenance Excellent technical knowledge of the elevator technology. Control, Drive and Digital systems Experience with electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems of the elevators
Extensive technical experience and understanding of a variety of elevator systems, digital solutions, components and installation processes. Experience and proficiency with PC database, spreadsheet, scheduling, communication and word processing applications.
