Longhorn TIES (Transition, Illuminate, Empower, Succeed) seeks to enhance the student experience for those who identify as neurodivergent (autism, ADHD, etc.) through self-advocacy, connections and training. Longhorn TIES encompasses TIESplus and drop-in neurodivergent student support services, NDatUT campus wide programming and events, presentations, trainings and more. Purpose
The Career Readiness Programming Graduate Student Assistant will support the development and execution of career readiness initiatives for undergraduate and graduate students engaged with Longhorn TIES. This role will provide individualized skill development support and contribute to the planning and implementation of campus-wide programs and events designed to enhance career preparedness for neurodivergent students. This position is for one academic year, from August 2026 to April/ May 2027, with the possibility of extending.
Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of career readiness programs and events, including identifying professional development topics, fostering campus partnerships, and leading communication and outreach efforts.
- Collaborate with campus career centers and other internal and external entities to develop programs and events designed to support neurodivergent individuals and open to all.
- Assist with event set up and break down, student engagement at programs and campus and community outreach and promotion of workshops.
- Assist the Longhorn TIES team in providing drop-in coaching support to undergraduate and graduate students who identify as neurodivergent. Coaching support will focus on professional development support.
- Identify learning outcomes for all events and programs; create evaluation tools to measure workshop attendance and success.
- Act as an ambassador for neurodivergence-related programming and initiatives at UT Austin through resource sharing, tabling, campus presentations and more.
- Complete and submit all required documentation within requested timeframes.
- Work collaboratively with programs and departments within the Health and Well-Being portfolio within the Division of Student Affairs.
- Support compliance with university, departmental and programmatic policies, procedures and standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and strategic goals of Longhorn TIES Neurodivergence Support.

- Program planning, implementation, and evaluation of neurodiversity initiatives.

- Assessment and evaluation methods to inform program improvement and student engagement strategies.
- Application of university policies and procedures related to student programs, space use, student safety, and risk management.
- Professional skills in collaboration, project management, and student support within a higher education environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Current enrollment in a Master’s program at UT Austin.
- Demonstrated interest in supporting students who identify as neurodivergent or disabled and enhancing student success.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to represent programs professionally.
