Senior Accountant

DP World, the fast-growing transportation and logistics leader that currently manages more than 10% of world trade, is seeking an experienced accounting professional to join our growing office in Bucharest as Senior Accountant. 

Your Responsibilities:
•    Efficiently coordinating all financial-accounting activities and special projects, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and applicable financial legislation.
•    Analyzing and evaluating accounting processes, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency.
•    Accurately applying accounting techniques for payroll, provisions, vendor accounting, tax calculations and reporting, VAT, corporate tax, and revaluation of foreign currency accounts.
•    Ensuring monthly reconciliation of ledger and sub-ledger accounts, preparing full reconciliation files within deadlines.
•    Confirming intercompany transactions monthly and resolving any discrepancies.
•    Preparing and submitting statutory financial statements (annual balance sheet and semi-annual reporting) in compliance with legal requirements.
•    Supporting external and internal audits, and assisting tax authorities during inspections.
•    Completing accurate reporting to the National Institute of Statistics (INSSE) and managing off-balance sheet account records.
•    Organizing and leading the periodic and annual inventory of stocks, guiding inventory teams throughout the process.
•    Maintaining mandatory accounting registers and ensuring all required documentation is complete and compliant.
•    Supervising the accounting team to ensure tasks are performed in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
•    Collaborating with suppliers, clients, partners, and state institutions to resolve operational and financial matters.
•    Providing accounting and fiscal support to other departments, participating in cross-functional projects, and contributing to continuous process improvement and company objectives.

 

Your Profile:
•    Higher education studies in Finance & Accounting.
•    Minimum 3 years of previous work experience in International Accounting.
•    In-depth knowledge of RAS (Romanian Accounting Standards) and fiscal legislation. 
•    Strong proficiency in working with the Microsoft Office suite (advanced Excel skills in particular) and ERP software. 
•    Full professional working proficiency in the Romanian and English languages. 
•    Strong self-management skills with a proven ability to plan, organize, and execute tasks effectively.
•    Highly organized and adaptable, with the capacity to perform well to meet deadlines.
•    Customer-oriented, with a focus on delivering exceptional client experiences.
•    Team player with the flexibility to collaborate effectively in a dynamic environment.
•    Problem-solving mindset, capable of identifying and implementing pragmatic solutions.
