The Assistant Parts Manager is responsible for assisting the Parts Manager with the management and supervision of all parts and service order processing.
This position is located at the Baton Rouge, LA branch for MGX Equipment Services and reports to the Parts Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Develop annual objectives for the parts department and each employee in order to attain sales and profit goals.
- Obtain and prepare parts quotes.
- Maintain current customer base by coordinating with PSSRs and a knowledgeable staff to provide a reliable parts supply to the customer.
- Manage parts ordering from manufacturers and communicating with vendors for special purchases; expedite backorders.
- Maintain accurate inventory of fast moving and performing stock.
- Schedule opening and closing hours for employees.
- Coordinate daily with Sales and Service/Rental departments.
- Other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of parts operations and inventory management experience. Previous experience as a supervisor/manager in the construction or heavy equipment industry is preferred.
- Mechanical background or crane parts experience preferred.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Possess exceptional customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Must be able to prioritize tasks, delegating when appropriate.
- Minimal travel required – 5% of the time or less based on business needs.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
This is a full-time position with typical working hours between 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. Additional hours and weekend work may be possible based on business conditions.

This position will be located in an office and shop environment, with considerable exposure to elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises. While performing the duties of this job, the employees is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. There is frequent lifting and/or moving of up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

PAY:
- This position offers a base salary between $64,000 to $74,000 annually depending on qualifications and experience, as well as participation in a variable compensation incentive plan. Pay is provided on a bi-weekly basis and there are 14 days in the pay period, beginning on a Monday and ending on a Sunday.
