We are excited to announce that Jefferson Healthcare has again partnered with the Washington Association of Community Health to continue the onsite MA training program at our clinics in Port Townsend!
The MA Apprentice program is a combination of online and on-the-job training. The successful candidate will begin working, paid, in the role on-site at Jefferson Healthcare with a 1:1 coach, while at the same time learning from online classes. We have identified some awesome coaches who love what they do and are excited to teach you!
At the completion of the program, you will be prepared to sit the exam for the MA-C certification. Please that individuals must take and pass the exam to become a Certified Medical Assistant and apply for a full-time MA-C position once training concludes.
The training program will begin with a state-wide cohort kick-off event on July 18th, 2024. This kick-off is mandatory for all Apprentice participants (the location will be virtual); you must be available on this day to start the program.
Program Highlights:
- 15-18 month program.
- Must be over the age of 18.
- A High School diploma or GED may be required.
- Must have a legal right to be employed in the United States.
- 1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week; Variable days and shifts.
- Academic portions are taken online.
- No experience necessary. We will be hiring for attitude, aptitude, and customer service skills!
- Cost would be covered upfront through a Return in Service ($3750 cost would be covered up-front by JHC if you agree to stay in role for 2 years).
- You will be working and paid in this role. Please note the pay is a set wage of $20.91/hr for the first 1000 hours then $21.82/hr for 1001-2000 hours.
