PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The Talent Acquisition Specialist takes responsibility for the candidate, contractor and volunteer hiring experience; from the job offer and new hire paperwork to helping the new employee feel welcome at RPS. Additionally, this position plays a role in supporting daily operations, key deliverables, and initiatives for the Talent Acquisition Department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Ensures that all actions are in concert with the Board policies as well as the mission statement, beliefs, objectives, and parameters found in the Board's strategic plan.
- Participates in job training and professional growth opportunities in order to enhance ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
- Makes formal job offers ensuring they are written correctly, with the correct salary and benefits information.
- Ensures proper onboarding for new hires and the necessary paperwork is completed promptly and accurately.
- Works closely with the Executive Director of Human Resources and position supervisor to help determine a market rate salary offer for the candidate.
- Interacts with all candidates, contractors and volunteers in a friendly, professional and thorough manner.
- Coordinates criminal background screening, Form I-9, licensure verification, etc. for new hires in compliance with laws, regulations and policies in a timely manner.
- Acts as point of contact for all contractors who need assistance with criminal background screening, badges, or other paperwork.
- Acts as the liaison between schools/departments and substitute staff.
- Determines applicant eligibility by studying job descriptions, job qualifications and employment history.
- Maintains all pertinent applicant data in the HRIS system.
- Improves organizational effectiveness by recommending new policies and practices.
- Maintains current knowledge in business, marketplace, and legal trends and requirements.
- Coordinates, develops, and implements special tasks and projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree preferred and a minimum of three years of relevant experience.

- Ability to maintain accurate files, records and candidate database while ensuring the security of confidential information.
- Ability to foster positive working relationships and provide superior customer support for all staff, guests, partners, and stakeholders.
