About the Role
At SearchStax, we are committed to excellence and innovation. We are currently seeking an experienced Web Engineering Leader to oversee and develop our web development team. Our first Web Engineering Leader will be instrumental in managing our WordPress website, collaborating with Marketing and Product to understand requirements, and implementing robust software development life cycle (SDLC) processes.

What You Will Do
Lead and manage our web development team. Plus, own and oversee all projects related to searchstax.com, sample projects: transition searchstax.com to a delightful user journey which results in increased revenue, build self-service portals for customers and developers; plus, build a trust center, oversee and lead all third-party integrations, own rebranding efforts for both web & mobile.
Work closely with our Marketing and Product teams to gather and interpret website requirements and ensure that these are accurately implemented.
Establish and maintain SDLC processes including planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
Ensure the website's scalability, performance, and security.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and recommend advancements in technologies to enhance website functionality and user experience.
Manage timelines, budgets, and documentation related to web development projects.
Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the development team.
Prepare reports and analytics to senior management demonstrating website performance and project progress.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technology, and best practices in web development and leadership.
What You Must Have
13+ years of experience as a Web Development Manager or similar leadership role in managing technical teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Strong experience with WordPress, including custom themes and plugin development.
Proficiency in front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.) and back-end languages (PHP, MySQL).
Demonstrated understanding of software development methodologies and project management tools.
Experience in configuring, optimizing, and maintaining web hosting environments.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively liaise with multiple teams.
Desired Skills
Experience with e-commerce integration, SEO best practices, and accessibility compliance.
Certifications in Project Management (e.g., PMP) or Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum Master).
Experience with performance optimization of high-traffic websites.
