Shag Driver - C Shift - Full Time - Lexington PBX

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Drivers are responsible to shag trailers to various on-site locations at the plant, climb in and out of the shag tractor, open trailer doors and put safety devices in place (jack stand and wheel chalks) and perform other duties as needed.  

 The Team Member is responsible for moving reefer trailers to and from loadout doors to the facility. The team member is responsible to check the truck (Fluid levels, tires, 5th wheel). The team member is required to hook the Trailer up, start the reefer and conduct a Trailor inspection, dolly legs, fuel and tires for damage. The team member is required to drive the Trailer to the destination. The team member is required to open and close the Trailer doors then using nylon safety straps to strap the doors and crank the dolly legs, then the team member is required to get and move the jack stand under the trailer.

• Must be willing and able to routinely push, pull, carry and lift 50 pounds or more and use hands and arms above shoulder level.  

• Must be willing and able and willing to work in extreme hot/ cold/wet/dry environment, willing to stand 8-10 hours a day. 

• The team member will bend A torso flexion of 0-10 degrees is noted when performing this job.

• Must be willing and able to Push/Pull to use a push/pull motion while performing this job.

• The team member will be required to reach approx. 8 to 14 inches while performing the job.

• the team member grasp Full hand grasping with both hands while performing this job.

• The team member use force while performing this job Medium to High force is required to move the jack stands on this job.

• The team member will stand and sit through out the shift.    

Requirements:

• Must be proficiency in reading and writing; ability to complete on-the-job paperwork and effectively communicate across all management levels

• Must be able to communicate clearly via phone, in person and in writing, able to use touch screen or manual tracking system to keep accurate flow of trailer and shag trucks. This position requires person to wash trailer if necessary and requires the ability to accurately complete product protection activities.

• Must be able to communicate effectively in order to receive work orders form the dispatcher over the radio.

• Must be able to relay information o other co-workers and report issues to management and to complete daily. paperwork

•  Must be willing and able to work weekends and accommodate occasional shift changes.

• Previous shag driving preferred but not required

• Applicants must provide Social Security Number to be consider.

• ​Must have a valid driver's license

• At least 18 years of age.

• NO DUI/DWIs in the last 12 months

        

C Shift Hours: 11pm to 7:30am

Starting pay of $22.00

Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.

Rehire Rule of no more than  3 times worked at Tyson Foods
